Keyboard and gamepad remapping
Every game button and the 8 shortcuts can be remapped for keyboard and gamepad, for all games or for one game.
Available on: All 16 systems.
Related systems: Wii

How to remap
- Settings → Controls (all games) or a game's Detail → Settings → Controls (per game). Pick Keyboard or Gamepad, click Add and press the input.
- Each action takes up to two inputs. An input already used moves to the new action ("Z removed from B"), so there are no conflicts.
- The editor shows the buttons of one system at a time, with the system's own names (for example
C (A)on the Mega Drive).
Fixed inputs
- Esc, the Guide / PS button and Select + Start held for 0.5 s always open the pause menu. Alt+F4 always quits.
Known limits
- The launcher cannot capture F10, Alt or the Windows key (WebView2 keeps them). Bind those by editing
global.toml.
Other features
PS4, PS5 and Xbox controllers
Nostyra reads gamepads through SDL3. Gamepads work out of the box, and the Controls editor shows Xbox or PlayStation button labels to match your pad. The DualSense (PS5) has been tested by the maintainer.
Soft patching
Translations, bug fixes and hacks are often shared as patch files. Nostyra applies them in memory when the game starts; the ROM file is never changed.
Portable mode
The Windows release is a portable zip with no installer. Everything Nostyra writes stays in a
data folder beside Nostyra.exe.
