Wii emulator for PC
Wii games run through the same Dolphin core as GameCube games. Every Wii game gets a Wii Remote with a Nunchuk mapped to your gamepad, and the mouse aims the Remote's pointer.

Game files
.iso,.ciso,.gcz,.wia,.rvz,.wbfsand.dol/.elf, up to 8 GiB. The disc header decides Wii or GameCube, never the extension.- Not read:
.wad(WiiWare / Virtual Console), NKit, CHD and archives.
Wii Remote and Nunchuk
- A / B on the pad's A / B, Nunchuk C / Z on X / Y, − / + on LB / RB, 1 / 2 on Start / Select, Home on R3.
- LT / RT shake the Nunchuk / Remote, left stick = Nunchuk stick, right stick tilts the Remote.
- The pointer follows the mouse over the picture. Mouse buttons do nothing: press A / B on the pad or keyboard.
Saves
- Each game keeps its own Wii NAND under
saves/wii/<game> [<ID>]/User/Wii/, so saves are not shared between games (for example Smash Bros. Brawl stages or Miis).
Known limits
- Do not choose "Wii Menu" from the HOME menu: there is no Wii System Menu and the game hangs. Quit from Nostyra's pause menu.
- Demanding Wii games may not reach full speed on slower CPUs (single-core Dolphin).
- All discs and revisions of one game share one save folder (memory card, NAND, shader cache).
- Not yet: Classic Controller, sideways Remote, real Wii Remotes, motion, rumble, a pointer for player 2.
Before you start
Nostyra does not include, download or link to Wii games or BIOS files. Use games you own, dumped from your own cartridges or discs. See the disclaimer.
Features for Wii games
PS4, PS5 and Xbox controllers
Nostyra reads gamepads through SDL3. Gamepads work out of the box, and the Controls editor shows Xbox or PlayStation button labels to match your pad. The DualSense (PS5) has been tested by the maintainer.
Controls and remapping
Every game button and the 8 shortcuts can be remapped for keyboard and gamepad, for all games or for one game.
Save states
A save state stores the whole emulated machine at one moment, so you can continue from any point, not only where the game lets you save.
Resume
When you quit a game, Nostyra saves a resume point. The next time you press Play, it asks whether to continue from there or start fresh.
